A 12V 500mA Non-isolated Switching Regulator:
This 12V 500mA Non-isolated Switching Regulator has an efficiency of up to 94%. Designed for step-down operation this regulator has an input voltage range of 15 – 36VDC. The output features low ripple and noise of typically 20mV P-P (20Mhz) and has continuous short circuit protection as standard.
In addition to providing a positive output these regulators can also be connected to provide a negative output. For negative outputs the input range and output current change, full details on the data sheet.
These parts are supplied in an industry standard SIP3 footprint that is compatible with LM78 series linear regulators. Unlike linear regulators these devices do not require a heatsink as very little energy is dissipated as heat. The case is manufactured from UL94-V0 black plastic and weighs 1.8g. Dimensions are 11.6 x 7.55 x 10.16mm. The operating temperature range is -40 to +85?C and cooling is by Free air convection.
